Composable Storefront expertise for modern SAP Commerce experiences.
Spartacus and Angular frontend architecture, SSR and hydration, OCC contracts, SmartEdit, accessibility and Core Web Vitals — built to stay upgradable.
When the storefront becomes the constraint
The legacy Accelerator storefront is holding back the roadmap and every change requires backend deployment. A Composable Storefront exists, but customisation was written against internals and upgrades now break it. Core Web Vitals, SEO rendering or accessibility are failing and nobody owns the frontend performance budget. Business users cannot author content without a developer, so campaigns queue behind releases.
What we deliver on the storefront
Storefront architecture: Library strategy, feature modules, custom outlets and a customisation approach that stays upgrade-safe. SSR & rendering: Server-side rendering configuration, caching layers and rendering behaviour validated for crawlers and first paint. Custom components: B2B journeys — quotes, approvals, quick order, account management — built as maintainable components. CMS & SmartEdit: Content structures your marketing team can author, with SmartEdit compatibility preserved. Performance engineering: Core Web Vitals budgets, image and bundle optimisation, measured in CI rather than assumed. Accelerator migration: Phased cutover from the JSP Accelerator, site by site or journey by journey, with rollback options.
Frontend technical scope
Angular & Spartacus libraries: Version alignment, feature libs, lazy-loaded modules and dependency hygiene. OCC API integration: Extended endpoints, custom occ adapters, converters and normalisers. SSR infrastructure: Node rendering tier, cache strategy, timeouts and graceful degradation under load. PWA capabilities: Service worker strategy where it adds value, not as a default checkbox. Accessibility: Keyboard journeys, focus management and semantic markup checked against WCAG criteria. Frontend CI/CD: Build pipelines, lint and test gates, and performance regressions caught before release.
How we approach storefront work
Assess the current storefront: customisation depth, upgrade distance, rendering and performance behaviour. Agree an upgrade-safe extension strategy before writing new components. Deliver journeys incrementally so value ships before the full migration completes. Enforce performance and accessibility budgets in the pipeline. Hand over documentation and patterns your team can extend without us.
Composable Storefront questions
What is SAP Composable Storefront? It is SAP's Angular-based headless storefront for SAP Commerce Cloud, previously known as Spartacus. It ships as npm libraries consumed by your application and communicates with Commerce through OCC APIs. Should we migrate from the Accelerator? For most customers on a current SAP Commerce Cloud release, yes — the Accelerator is no longer the strategic frontend. We normally run a short assessment first to size the effort and recommend a phased cutover. Does Composable Storefront support SEO and SSR? Yes. Server-side rendering is part of the standard setup, and we treat rendering, caching and Core Web Vitals as engineering requirements with budgets enforced in CI. Can marketing still author content? Yes. Composable Storefront consumes SAP Commerce CMS content, so SmartEdit authoring continues to work when components are built with content structures in mind.
